TESeq strange behaviour

I'm trying to build a 3-track euclidean sequencer using @JeromeB 's TESeq object, but they are glitching out on me and I can't work out why. Every few bars the sequencers will suddenly play full 16ths for a while, then reset back to whatever value they were set to before. What confuses me the most is that it starts to happen on the 3 TESeq objects individually, but ends on all 3 sequencers at the same time. This happens both when using an internal clock source and external MIDI clock. The only edits I did to the TESeq objects was to add inputs for controlling the number of hits externally.

Hi floodcomics,

In your patch, TSeq object you are using seems to be different from the version available on the repository.
In the official version, "hits" and "length" are int32 parameters.
In your patch, "hits" are "length" are frac32 inlets. Frac32 are in Q21 format (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_(number_format)) and the current euclidean algorithm works only with int32 values.

First, try to change inlets type from frac32 to int32. Use display int32 label to see the real values used in the algorithm. Then, try to use "conv to i" object to convert fract32 analog input to int32 value.

I recommended you to use rotary switch instead potentiometers : http://community.axoloti.com/t/official-pin-out-ports-documentation/202/11

I suspected it might have been my amateurish tinkering with the object

What would be the benefit of rotary switches over potentiometers?

With rotary switch you switches from one value to another. If the rotary switch used have 4 positions, then 4 inputs values are available corresponding to 0V, 1.1V, 2.2V, 3.3V.
With potentiometers, if the current position of the potentiometer is on the threshold (virtually created by rounding the input value) between a value and the next, then the output can oscillate. You don't have this problem with rotary switch.

Ah yeah I see what you mean. So far this hasn't been a big issue though, and I've drilled and soldered everything in place already using regular pots, so I'll stick with it for now, but I'll keep in mind for the future!
